一、摘要 PLC是一種專門在工業環境下應用而設計的數字運算操作的電子裝置。

它採用可以編制程序的存儲器，用來在其內部存儲執行邏輯運算、順序運算、計時、計數和算術運算等操作的指令，並能通過數字式或模擬式的輸入和輸出，控制各種類型的機械或生產過程。PLC及其有關的外圍設備都應按照易於與工業控制係統形成一個整體，易於擴展其功能的原則而設計。在工業生產的各個領域，機械加工企業為了提高生產效率，採用機械化流水作業的方式，對不同類型的零件分別組成的自動生產線。隨著產品機型的更新換代，生產線承擔的加工對象也隨之改變，這就需要改變控制程序，使生產線的機械設備按新的工藝過程運行，而繼電接觸器控制器係統是採用固定接線，很難適應這個要求。大型自動生產線的控制係統使用的繼電器數量很多，隨著PLC的應用日益普及,其使用方法簡單,便於掌握,且可靠性,抗幹擾性很強,自身具有完善的功能.模塊化的結構,使其在工業生產線上的應用越來越廣泛。

　　發展趨勢：1.向高速度、大容量方向發展

　　為了提高PLC的處理能力，要求PLC具有的響應速度和更大的存儲容量。目前，有的PLC的掃描速度可達0.1ms/k步左右。PLC的掃描速度已成為很重要的一個性能指標。

　　在存儲容量方面，有的PLC可達幾十兆字節。為了擴大存儲容量，有的公司已使用了磁泡存儲器或硬盤。

　　2.向超大型、超小型兩個方向發展

　　當前中小型PLC比較多，為了適應市場的多種需要，今後PLC要向多品種方向發展，特別是向超大型和超小型兩個方向發展。現已有I/O點數達14336點的超大型PLC，其使用32位微處理器，多CPU並行工作和大容量存儲器，功能強。
