Fluke 1625-2 Ground Tester Overview

1. Characteristics

Easy to operate: During each test, the tester will prompt which stake or jaw needs to be used; the large-size rotary switch ensures operation even when wearing gloves.

USB data storage and transfer: Ability to store and download data via USB port, internal memory can store up to 1500 records.

2. Measurement function

Stakeless testing (jaws only)

Measuring principle: Simply use the jaws to measure the ground loop resistance. Two jaws are clamped to the ground rod and each jaw is connected to the tester. One of the jaws senses a known fixed voltage and the other measures the current and then automatically determines the resistance of the ground rod. This method does not require the use of grounding stakes at all, and there is no need to disconnect the grounding rod during testing, maintaining the integrity of the grounding system. However, this method is only applicable if there is a grounding system in the building or structure being tested. When there is only one path to ground (such as many residential applications), it cannot provide acceptable values, and the potential drop test method must be used.

Suitable scenarios: Ground testing can be performed in locations never considered before, including inside buildings, on cable towers, or anywhere where there is no access to the ground.

Multiple Ground Measurement Types: A comprehensive tester that can complete all four types of ground measurements, including three-pole and four-pole potential drop (using ground stakes), four-pole soil resistivity testing (using ground stakes), Selective testing (using ground stakes and 1 jaw), non-stake testing (using only 2 jaws).

3. Technical parameters

Measuring range: 0.020£[ to 300k£[. Different display ranges have different resolutions, such as 0.001£[ to 2.999£[ with a resolution of 0.001£[, 3.00£[ to 29.99£[ with a resolution of 0.01£[, etc.

Accuracy: ¡Ó(2% of reading + 2 digits) (in some measurements), operating error ¡Ó(5% of reading + 5 digits).

Measurement time: usually 8 seconds when using a fixed frequency, and a maximum of 30 seconds to complete all measurement frequency cycles when using automatic frequency control.

Open circuit voltage: 20/48V AC, short circuit current 250mA AC, measurement frequency can be manually or automatically selected 94, 105, 111 and 128Hz (AFC), 55Hz (R*).

Noise suppression: 120dB (162/3, 50, 60 and 400Hz).

Maximum overload: Maximum Urms=250V (measurement will not be started).

4. Supporting equipment and kits

Supporting equipment: such as Geox probe cable, two clamps and conductor sets, etc. An external current transformer is also provided as an option. When measuring a single branch in a grounding system operating in a mesh, the current transformer has a conversion ratio of 80- 1200:1, can be used to measure high-voltage transmission towers without separating overhead ground wires or ground straps at the bottom of the tower, and can also be used to measure lightning protection systems without separating individual lightning protection conductors.

Kit contents: For example, Fluke1625-2KIT includes "User Manual", "Safety Instructions", QRG, Geox probe cable, two clamps,
