Configuration of PA-Devices From Control Builder M point of view PROFIBUS PA-devices are seen like PROFIBUS DP-devices. Every PA-device needs to have a hardware definition file to get it configured on PROFIBUS. But additional configuration aspects have to be taken into account to get a proper engineering. Connecting PA-Devices via Linking Device LD 800P and SK3 Due to the fact that PA is using a different transmission technology than DP, PAdevices cannot be connected directly to PROFIBUS DP. A linking device has to be used. The Linking Device LD 800P and SK3 is the interface between PROFIBUS DP and PROFIBUS PA. The LD 800P and SK3 is a transparent gateway. PA devices are seen as DP devices on the PROFIBUS DP. The LD 800P and SK3 supports all defined baudrates for PROFIBUS DP from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s.
