There are six functional blocks in the DeltaV system:

***Advanced Control Function Block - Implement complex algorithm functions for * * * process control

Advanced Function Block - Performs advanced functions such as voting and sequencing

Analog Control Function Block - Executes simple and complex algorithms for analog control of * * *

Energy Metering Function Block - Performs mathematical flow calculations for natural gas, steam, or other fluids

Input/Output (I/O) function block - used for scaling, converting, and filtering input and output signals in other function blocks or field devices

Logical Function Block - Executes logical functions for sequence, planning, and interlocking.

Math function block - performs mathematical functions such as transformation, integration, and accumulation.

Timer/Counter function block - performs timer and counter functions for control and * * *.

Automatic working mode

(1) Self switching and self recovery mode: The controller monitors two power sources. When both power sources are working normally, the load is powered by the commonly used power source; When the commonly used power supply fails (power outage or phase loss), the controller issues a switching command to automatically switch the power supply to the backup power supply, and at this time, the load is powered by the backup power supply; When the common power supply returns to normal, the controller issues a switching command again to return the load power supply from the backup power supply to the common power supply.

(2) Self switching and non self recovery mode: Its working mode is similar to that of self switching and self recovery, but it only automatically returns to the common power supply when the backup power supply also fails. Otherwise, the backup power supply will continue to supply power to the load.

(3) Grid generator mode: When a common power supply fails, the controller outputs a generator start command, and after a short delay, the common power supply is disconnected. At this time, the load is powered by the generator; When the common power supply returns to normal, the controller outputs a generator shutdown command and the power supply automatically switches to the common power supply, returning the load to the power supply mode from the common power supply.
